Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Rail Design Professional to join our team in Dublin. As a key member of our rail design team, you will be responsible for preparing feasibility, preliminary, and detailed designs for rail schemes using industry-leading software.
You will support the preparation of options selection, feasibility, and preliminary design reports, as well as assist in the preparation of contract documents and tendering processes. You will also participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies as necessary.
Collaborating with other designers and project managers, you will ensure design objectives are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will prepare technical documents and reports, ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Maintaining technical accuracy and adherence to standards, you will keep up-to-date with advances in infrastructure design and implement new technologies and practices as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a Level 8 degree in engineering; a Master's Degree (Level 9) is preferred but not essential. Progressing towards a Chartered Engineer (CEng) MIEI or equivalent recognized professional qualification is also required.
You should have experience in preparing designs for rail schemes using industry-leading software. Supporting schemes through Railway Order or Transport and Works Act Order processes is also desirable. Adherence to project management guidelines throughout project delivery stages is crucial.
Familiarity with Irish Rail/Network Rail design standards and best practices is necessary. Knowledge of Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013 or similar is also required.
