Dairy Farm Assistant – Fardrum, Co. Westmeath
We are looking to recruit a Dairy Farm Assistant with a minimum of 2 years experience milking cows in a dairy parlour environment. The farm is located in Fardrum, Co. Westmeath and consists of 2 herringbone parlours with 36 clusters. 480 cows are milked twice daily and are grazed on 280 ha of quality pasture.
Responsibilities
Milk cows twice daily in a herringbone parlour environment.
Assist with day‑to‑day farm operations, including calf rearing and tractor driving as required.
Maintain herd health and welfare and support pasture management.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum 2 years experience milking cows in a dairy parlour.
No formal qualification required.
Good spoken and written English (B1–Intermediate).
Ability to work independently and demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and manual labor skills.
Desirable
Skills: Communication, Manual.
Competencies: Flexibility, Initiative, Manual work, Working on own initiative.
Specialisation: calf rearing, tractor driving.
Driving licence: None required.
Benefits
Guaranteed salary of €36,605 pa for a 39‑hour, six‑day week.
