**Overview:**
We are seeking an experienced Temporary Works Engineer with specialized expertise in tower crane projects to join our team within the construction plant machinery sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing temporary works solutions related to tower crane installation, operation, and dismantling, ensuring safety, compliance, and project efficiency.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and review temporary works schemes specific to tower crane installations, including foundations, supporting structures, and lifting accessories.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and prepare method statements for tower crane erection, operation, and dismantling activities.
- Collaborate closely with crane suppliers, site delivery teams, and project managers to coordinate temporary works design and execution.
- Prepare, review, and approve temporary works drawings, calculations, and installation procedures related to tower cranes.
- Ensure temporary works are designed in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., BS 5975) and industry best practices.
- Monitor the installation, operation, and removal of tower cranes and associated temporary works on site, verifying compliance with approved schemes.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure safety and effectiveness of temporary works associated with tower crane activities.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure proper sequencing and coordination of crane activities.
- Maintain accurate records of temporary works designs, inspections, modifications, and approvals.
- Provide technical support and guidance to site teams regarding temporary works requirements for tower crane projects.
- Ensure all activities comply with health and safety legislation, promoting a safety-first culture on site.
**Qualifications & Experience:**
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in temporary works design, planning, and management specifically for tower crane projects.
- Strong knowledge of standards and regulations relevant to tower crane erection and dismantling (e.g., BS 5975, LOLER, CDM Regulations).
- Familiarity with tower crane types, installation procedures, and associated temporary works.
- Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar) preferred.
- Relevant health and safety certifications (e.g., CSCS, SMSTS, IOSH) are essential.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
