Role Overview
The Transport Planner is responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and control of transport operations based out of Limerick/Tipperary.
The role focuses on route planning, driver scheduling, service delivery, and operational efficiency to ensure customer and business requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and schedule daily and weekly transport operations to ensure efficient use of vehicles and drivers.
Optimise routes to improve efficiency, service levels, and cost control.
Liaise closely with drivers, warehouse teams, customers, and site management to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Monitor driver hours, tachograph compliance, and working time in line with legal and company requirements.
Respond proactively to operational issues such as delays, breakdowns, or changes to delivery schedules.
Ensure transport documentation and system records are accurate and up to date.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across transport operations.
Ensure all transport activities are carried out in accordance with Company procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Utilise the microlise system to ensure efficiency and customer service requirements.
