Job Description

We are seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the project team in implementing world-class safety standards.

The role involves:

* Developing, implementing, monitoring, and auditing health and safety procedures and policies across multiple projects.
* Coordinating health and safety committee activities, including weekly and monthly meetings.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
* Promoting a positive health and safety culture through training, awareness, and engagement.
* Representing the company during external audits, inspections, and regulatory visits.
* Liaising with health and safety authorities and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.
* Maintaining accurate records of incidents, accidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
* Staying informed on relevant changes in legislation and best practices.
* Conducting health and safety inductions for all new employees and subcontractors.
* Identifying ongoing health and safety training needs across project teams.
* Reviewing subcontractor safety statements and assessing compliance with company standards.
* Supporting continuous improvement in health and safety performance on all sites.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A third-level education in a recognised EHS degree or diploma (NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification preferred).
* A minimum of 5 years of health and safety experience with a main contractor in Europe.
* A qualification in manual handling instruction would be an advantage.
* Experience in leading and conducting risk assessments.
* Knowledge of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 systems.
* The ability to deliver training modules (first aid, manual handling, fire warden, etc.).
* Highly motivated with meticulous attention to professional standards.
* The ability to work in a team environment and engage, motivate, and collaborate with people.
* Strong organisational and coordination skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Windows Operating System.
