Quantity Surveyor Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Portlaoise, working on a range of infrastructure and utilities projects across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare project budgets and cost plans: Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets and cost plans to ensure accurate financial tracking and forecasting.
* Assess subcontractor valuations and manage payments: Evaluate and approve subcontractor invoices, ensuring timely payment and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
* Support tender preparation and procurement strategies: Assist in the development of tender documents and procurement strategies to secure contracts and drive business growth.
* Identify and manage commercial risks: Proactively identify potential commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the company's interests.
* Ensure smooth project delivery: Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and high-quality outcomes.
* Provide accurate cost reporting and forecasting: Deliver timely and accurate cost reports and forecasts to stakeholders, informing decision-making and driving business success.
Requirements:
* Education: Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
* Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in a QS role, preferably within the civil engineering or utilities sector.
* Commercial expertise: Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial processes.
* Communication and negotiation skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
* Driving license: Full driving license for travel between sites.
