Job Specification: Refrigeration Technician (HVAC) – Pharmaceutical Maintenance (Days)
Day Shift (e.g., Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30)
Job Purpose:
To ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and HVAC systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The technician will play a critical role in maintaining temperature-controlled environments essential for product integrity and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform routine and reactive maintenance on refrigeration systems, chillers, cold rooms, and HVAC units.
* Monitor and maintain environmental conditions in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) areas.
* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control issues related to HVAC and refrigeration systems.
* Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance in accordance with SOPs and manufacturer guidelines.
* Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including maintenance logs, calibration records, and compliance reports.
* Support validation and qualification activities for temperature-controlled equipment.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Production, and Engineering.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and energy efficiency projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
* Trade qualification in Refrigeration, HVAC, or Mechanical Engineering.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in refrigeration and HVAC maintenance.
* Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech, food).
* Strong understanding of GMP and regulatory compliance.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
Desirable:
* F-Gas certification.
* Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
* Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
