Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Painting Inspector to supervise and inspect painting and coating works on site. The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing surface preparation, application, and inspection of protective coatings on pipelines, structural steel, and above-ground installations. This is a key role in ensuring all painting activities meet quality standards, technical specifications, and health & safety requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise day-to-day painting and coating operations to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Perform visual and technical inspections of surface preparation, coating application, and curing processes.
Verify all materials, equipment, and procedures comply with approved specifications, ITPs, and client requirements.
Ensure proper use of inspection tools such as DFT (Dry Film Thickness) gauges, hygrometers, surface profile comparators, etc.
Maintain accurate records including inspection reports, paint logs, material certifications, and environmental condition records.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams, project engineers, and subcontractors to resolve non-conformities and ensure timely progress.
Monitor and manage the performance of painting crews and subcontractors on site.
Conduct toolbox talks and support HSEQ compliance across all activities.
Participate in pre-painting meetings, audits, and final walkthroughs with clients or third-party inspectors.
Candidate Requirements:
Certified Painting Inspector (e.g., NACE, ICorr Level 2 or equivalent) - essential.
3 previous relevant projects required with application
Proven experience supervising industrial painting/coating works (preferably on pipelines, tanks, or structural steel).
Strong knowledge of surface preparation standards (e.g., ISO 8501, SSPC, NACE) and coating application methods (airless spray, brush, roller).
Familiarity with project documentation: Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans, and Material Data Sheets.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong Communication Skills And Leadership Capabilities.
High attention to detail and a proactive, safety-conscious approach.
