Dublin
Dojo
Head of finance
Posted: 22 January
Offer description

We're reinventing payments. In less than four years, Dojo disrupted the market to become the largest and most loved acquirer in the UK. Our payments infrastructure, purpose-built for in-person commerce, is game changing.

Now, over 150,000 customers across four countries choose to transact billions with us every year.

But we're just getting started.

Our people are the driving force behind our success. They are our greatest investment and our ultimate competitive advantage. We hire exceptional people and give them the autonomy, trust, and ownership to thrive. The results take care of themselves.

The Role
We are seeking a high-calibre finance leader to serve as the Head of Finance (PCF 11) for our Irish e‑money license entity. As a Payment Institution authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI), this role is critical to our governance structure.

This is not a traditional "back‑office" accounting role. While you will partner with our UK parent company and teams for core financial reporting, management accounts, statutory obligations, regulatory integrity and capital management, you will also contribute to our commercial and expansion strategy across Europe alongside other senior members of the PIL team. You will be the financial custodian of our Irish entity, ensuring compliance while enabling our commercial teams in Ireland, Spain, Italy and France to drive growth.

What you will do
Regulatory Governance & PCF 11 Stewardship

Act as the primary point of contact for the Central Bank of Ireland on all financial matters.

Oversee and sign off on all regulatory returns (FINREP, COREP, Monthly Metrics, and ad‑hoc returns), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Monitor "Own Funds" and capital adequacy requirements to ensure strict adherence to E‑Money Regulations.

Act as the guardian of customer funds; ensure daily reconciliation of safeguarding accounts is performed correctly and compliant with the CBI and group Safeguarding Guidance.

Present quarterly financial packs to the Irish Board of Directors (PIL Board), highlighting capital headroom, regulatory risks, and commercial performance in addition to ad‑hoc contributions (eg Annual budget).

Commercial Business Partnering (Europe)

Bridge the gap between the UK financial reporting hub and local markets. Translate financial data into actionable commercial insights for our MDs.

Lead the Irish budgeting process, challenging assumptions from local sales teams to ensure realistic targets and adequate capital allocation.

Financial Control & UK Partnership

Work closely with the UK Finance team to ensure the Irish entity's books are accurate and meet regulatory and local standards; collaborate with our centralised tax team on Irish and specific market tax requirements.

Lead the local statutory audit for the Irish entity with KPMG, ensuring clean opinions and timely filing.

Manage complex intercompany flows between the Irish entity and the UK parent.

What You Will Bring
To be approved as a PCF 11 by the Central Bank, you must demonstrate the requisite 'Fitness and Probity'.

Experienced Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA)

No mandatory experience working in a CBI‑regulated entity (Payment Institution, E‑Money, Insurance, or Banking) – we expect the candidate to be a quick learner of the regulatory framework we operate in (Safeguarding, Capital Adequacy…).

Understanding of the Payments landscape (Acquiring, Interchange, Schemes) is highly preferred.

Dojo home and away
We believe our best work happens when we collaborate in‑person. These "together days" foster communication, drive innovation and spark our brightest ideas. That's why we have an office‑first culture where you work from the office 4+ days per week. With offices across Europe, we provide quiet zones for deep focus, collaboration spaces for big ideas, and social hubs for casual catch‑ups. Do work that counts, in spaces made for you.

Question: what's curious, relentless, and customer obsessed?
If you're keen to know the answer, you're a third of the way to meeting our Dojo values.

You're curious. You have a real desire to learn and create.

You're relentless. You keep going even when it's easier not to.

You're customer‑obsessed. You know how important customers are to what you do.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion at Dojo
From local bakeries to well‑known eateries, Dojo payments serve over 150,000 places across the UK. Our drive to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion is closely linked to helping employees thrive and innovating for better customer experiences. If you care about your work, you're curious, and you think customer‑first, you have a place at Dojo. To make sure you're the best you can be throughout the recruitment process, let us know if you need any extra adjustments to help you thrive.
