Senior Neuro-Physiologist Mater Private Network is seeking a highly motivated Exercise Physiologist to join our team at Mater Private Network. This is a fixed term contract, covering Maternity Leave. Our Clinical Neurophysiology Department covers a range of services including electroencephalography (EEG), nerve conduction studies (NCS), electromyography (EMG) and video telemetry EEG, carpal tunnel clinics are delivered. Skills & Qualifications: (a)On the latest date for receiving completed applications for the office a candidate must:- (i)Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Dublin Institute of Technology/TU Dublin or equivalent or (ii)Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification (Level 8) as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurements Science (IICMS). Or if qualified in or prior to 2005 (i)Possess the Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM)from Dublin Institute of Technology or (ii)Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification as confirmed by the IrishInstitute of Clinical Measurement Science (IICMS). (b)Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years satisfactory relevant post qualification experience. (c)Candidates must have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role. General Duties: 1.Adheres to his/her training regarding ethical responsibilities and confidentiality. 2.Conforms to all Departmental, as well as Hospital, policies and procedures. 3.Maintains appropriate interpersonal skills with patients, colleagues, physicians and other hospital staff. 4.Maintains all instrumentation in excellent working order, checking calibration and making minor maintenance adjustments and repairs deemed by the instrument manufacturer as appropriate and safe. 5.Performs other departmental related duties, archiving, stock taking and other duties as directed by the Chief Clinical Physiologist. 6.Senior Neuro-Physiologist is expected to perform his/her duties under the guidance of the Consultant staff will report to the Clinical Physiology Manager. 7.Our service also provides other clinical testing such as Polysomnography for Sleep Disorders which involves both the set-up and analysis of the sleep study. 8Skin Prick Allergy Tests, Urea Breath Tests and Fibroscans are also performed, though not required for a successful application. Can be training from within the department. Specific Duties: 9. Explains the test procedures to the patient to obtain the patient's co-operation necessary for a complete examination.Checks the patient's medical chart for orders and special needs with particular attention to patients with pacemakers. 10. Performs standard and advanced Nerve Conduction Studies in a highly skilled, patient-appropriate manner, recognises normal and abnormal results, and, recognises and takes reasonable steps to eliminate physiological and non-physiological artifact. 11.Performs bed side EEG studies in the intensive care unit or outside the department understanding the special technical requirements of these areas. 12.Performs Routine, Sleep Deprived, Prolonged and Ambulatory EEG's. 13.Supervises and participates in the teaching of junior personnel and students andreports same to the Chief Clinical Physiologist.
