Fulfill Your Potential as a Senior Project Ecologist
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Project Ecologist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Energy and Planning team, you will work on a diverse range of projects in sustainable infrastructure, circular economy, environment, and energy and renewables.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of post-graduate experience in ecology or a related field, with expertise in ecological consultancy services, project planning, and site surveys. You will be responsible for managing individual contracts, providing expert ecological input, and preparing reports and other deliverables.
Responsibilities
* Manage individual contracts to deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services.
* Provide expert ecological input for a range of projects.
* Plan, conduct, and supervise the execution of site ecological surveys and fieldwork.
* Prepare and monitor the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans.
* Undertake Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and other environmental reporting requirements.
* Write technical reports and other deliverables.
* Manage quality, including attention to detail and accuracy, delivery of contracts on time and to the highest possible standards.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A degree in ecology or a related subject.
* A minimum of five years of post-graduate experience.
* Consultancy experience is desirable.
* Membership of CIEEM, CIWEM, or equivalent professional body.
* Detailed knowledge of wildlife and conservation legislation within Ireland.
* Excellent technical report writing skills.
* Experience in preparing Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments.
* Experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
