SeeRole SummaryThe role sits within the Data Analytics & Management Information team within the Portfolio Management (PM) Division of ISIF which is responsible for monitoring of Irish investments; ESG and wider impact; risk management, asset allocation and as well as data analytics/MI.The Data Analytics & Management Information team within this division is responsible for all aspects of data analytics/MI solutions, data quality and governance, as well as other related data activities in the broader PM division.It is an exceptional opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to join a team tasked with the delivery of data & analytics solutions across the ISIFs core IT systems and processes. It provides a unique opportunity for someone with 7 or more years of relevant experience to gain exposure to the data analytics and data management activities across the investment management process. The role sits within a core business unit to facilitate close alignment with the business and desired impact.The successful candidate can expect to manage and produce work on data across all aspects of the investment process contributing to strategy, risk assessment, monitoring issues across a wide range of companies and funds which will deploy capital into such organisations as meet the Fund's mandate The role will require the candidate to work positively and collaboratively among a wide team of investment professionals.In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to idea generation and engage in automation efforts to streamline operational and analytical processes.All members of the ISIF team are required to remain flexible to respond to the dynamic nature of the ISIF mandate – this may require team members to apply their skills to other areas, outside of their core areas of responsibility, from time to time.Principal AccountabilitiesThe Data Analytics Manager will be required to work alongside the Investment Director and other members of the Portfolio Management division and other divisions (Investment and Operations) in ISIF across the full range of the Fund's investment activities. These tasks will include:Oversee and deal with ad-hoc information requests from a variety of stakeholders within the ISIF and broader NTMA areas.Lead, deliver and assist in the building of advanced reporting and analytics capabilities to the ISIF in the format of dashboards, business intelligence reports, statistical analysis, and models.Oversee, review and reconcile periodic reports as part of the Business As Usual reporting processes.Lead and deliver in innovative deep-dive analysis of complex quantitative and qualitative data sets to support the management of the investment portfolio in the ISIF.Facilitate meetings and workshops across a variety of stakeholders at different levels.Lead and perform in-depth analysis of data quality issues presenting in financial data from different sources, understanding the root cause of these anomalies and proposing and leading remediation activities through to closure i.e. data updates, system change, process change.Communicate and present analytical findings to all levels of management as required.Working with key stakeholders e.g. data stewards and data owners to agree data definitions, data impacts and ensure robust governance processes.Support the Head of Data Analytics/MI team to deliver on the rollout and embedding of the Data Quality Governance framework.Represent the data team on the design, testing and implementation activities in relation to the change management process for ISIF's core IT systems to ensure high quality data and analytics are considered from end to end.Proactively making suggestions to enhance the operational effectiveness and impact of the team.Supporting the wider ISIF team with queries and tasks as requiredDesired Knowledge And ExperienceThe ideal candidate will:Have a relevant third level post graduate qualification in Analytics/Finance (or similar) with an undergraduate qualification in Analytics, Finance, Business, Engineering (or related field)7 years' experience post qualification working in an analytical role in a financial organization.7 years' experience working with financial products and related datasets.Knowledge of portfolio performance measurement methods and related data is an advantage.Knowledge of tools and techniques involved in data management, data quality and data analytics processes.5 years' industry experience working with Power BI or similar tool and advanced excel/ financial modeling.Knowledge of databases and data modelling and advanced experience in SQL.Experience in other tools e.g. R, Python.Experience in implementing data quality and governance processes.Experience in developing of team and individual members to achieve high performance that drives business value that supports the execution of an organisation's business strategy.Demonstrate a keen and well-informed interest in the investment process and in further developing knowledge and expertise in this area.SkillsStrong analytical and numerical skills with the application of appropriate statistical testing.A clear thinker (strategic mindset) with excellent problem-solving skills.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex issues to diverse stakeholders.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and with own team.A self-motivated, flexible, and considerate team player.A flexible team player capable of managing a number of stakeholders in a professional manner and a number of competing projects to completion.The NTMA is proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
