Overview
We have an exciting opportunity available for you to grow your career and make a difference at Birds Eye! Joining us as a National Account Manager, you'll lead the execution of the customer business plan to achieve and exceed annual targets. You’ll do this by utilising category and consumer insight to achieve key business targets and be accountable for the planning and delivery of a profitable growth plan with your customer.
Responsibilities
This is a key role within our Irish commercial team where you’ll manage a broad portfolio of branded products within the Birds Eye, Aunt Bessies, and Goodfella’s Pizza portfolios. In brief, you will be responsible for:
1. Building partnerships with stakeholders to develop, manage & execute Joint Business Plans to achieve both your own and the customer’s Sales, Profit & Share targets. (Full P&L ownership and updating the sales and gross profit forecasts)
2. Working with internal & external customers to secure best-in-class visibility of our brands.
3. Owning the promotional strategy – utilising best practices in bringing together all three brands across categories to deliver the best offer for the Customer, Consumer, and Birds Eye.
4. Monitoring portfolio effectiveness via the company toolkit/reporting system and feeding learnings into the category, RGM, customer marketing, and customer finance teams.
5. Owning the day-to-day commercial relationship with the Buyers in your respective categories, including some exposure to Senior Buying Managers and Category Directors.
Qualifications
It is essential that you have experience managing a national Top 4 Retailer within a blue-chip FMCG organisation. This experience must include:
* JBP negotiation
* Price increase implementation
* Category strategy development and customer implementation
* Customer account management including range and NPD management
* Promotional development and management
You should be an effective communicator, able to influence and build relationships both internally and with the customer. Good administrative skills, forecasting experience, and understanding of trends are essential. Demonstrate a strong attention to detail. Be proficient with Microsoft Excel, analyzing data, and interpreting outputs for commercial advantage. Possess solid sales skills, a structured selling process, and the ability to support customer negotiations. Experience in own-label business management is a plus, but a category and customer-first mindset is most important. Finally, bring passion and high energy to deliver results.
