Brightwater Executive is delighted to be working with our client, a long-established, market-leading financial services group that has grown significantly across Ireland, almost doubling in team size over the past 24 months. Now standing at 500 staff, with a solid reputation for innovation, customer centricity and trust, and long-term stability, the business is now seeking a senior finance professional to step into a pivotal leadership role to lead and mentor a finance team of 12-15 staff.
About the Position
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller will act as a key business partner within the senior leadership team, ensuring robust controls, compliance, and high-quality reporting while also influencing strategic decision-making.
The role offers the scope to:
* Take ownership of all financial control and reporting functions.
* Safeguard the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information.
* Design and maintain a strong governance and control framework to support ongoing growth.
* Partner with senior executives, providing insight to shape commercial and operational decisions.
* Lead, inspire, and develop a finance team of professionals, creating a culture of continuous improvement and efficiencies, technical skills development and career progression.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead all aspects of financial reporting, control, and compliance across the group.
* Ensure integrity of statutory and management accounts, regulatory returns, and tax compliance.
* Develop and maintain robust internal controls and governance frameworks.
* Oversee treasury, accounts payable, and payroll functions.
* Manage external audits and relationships with regulators.
* Act as a senior business partner to the CFO and executive team.
* Drive improvements in efficiency, reporting, and financial insight to support growth.
* Lead and develop a team fostering a culture of accountability, team collaboration and continuous improvement.
Experience/Requirements
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
* 7–10+ years post-qualification experience, with strong financial control background.
* Financial services, insurance, professional services, B2B services environment and or other regulated sector experience preferred.
* Demonstrated success in leading finance teams in multi-entity environments.
* Strong technical accounting, reporting, and audit experience.
* Commercially astute, with the ability to provide actionable financial insight.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Location & Working Model
Based in Southwest Dublin, the role offers a hybrid model: four days in the office (with flexible working hours) and one day working from home.
