AboutThe Role
As a Freight Forwarder, you will coordinate with clients, carriers, and overseas agents to ensure the smooth movement of import and export shipments. You will play a key role in optimising shipping efficiency, controlling costs, and delivering a high level of customer service at every stage of the process.
What Youll Be Doing
Manage and develop strong relationships with customers, suppliers, agents, and colleagues
Coordinate and oversee import/export freight shipments from booking through to final delivery
Monitor bookings and shipments via internal tracking systems and provide timely updates
Input all required shipment details into the in-house operational system and issue booking confirmations promptly
Liaise closely with carriers and overseas agents to secure and finalise required documentation
Ensure customers are fully informed of shipment progress, including any changes or exceptions
Manage shipment files accurately, ensuring billing and costing are processed in line with company procedures and deadlines
Support a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues across Operations
Assist with additional administrative and operational duties as required
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in freight forwarding or logistics (preferred)
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with customers and stakeholders
Customer-focused with a commitment to service excellence
Highly organised and methodical with strong attention to detail
Good systems knowledge (ERP systems, Excel, and other operational platforms)
Strong geographical knowledge of Europe (advantageous)
Good numeracy, literacy, and analytical skills
Fluent written and oral English.
