Job Title: Senior Maintenance Technician
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for leading by example and supporting company policy and procedures.
Your primary role will be to support the maintenance manager/supervisors and maintenance team in various areas, including asset management and maintenance procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Respond to breakdowns and provide support to technicians where necessary.
2. Assist supervisors/managers in monitoring machine reliability.
3. Identify and execute machine/line improvement projects.
4. Liaise with production on line improvement projects.
5. Assist with commissioning of new machinery.
6. Assist with training of technicians/operators.
7. Assist with evaluation of existing PM's and modify where necessary.
8. On-call support and attend site if necessary.
9. Flexibility to support holiday and sickness cover for other shifts.
10. Play a key role in planning and executing machine and fabric repairs in advance of visits and audits.
11. Participate and input into PM programmes and spare parts projects.
12. Engage with H&S compliance programme.
Requirements:
* Production support on shift as required. Fully support the team leaders/line support i.e. on shift cover, with phone support, and on callouts.
* Support the maintenance leaders with regards to projects, improvement plans, audit preparation, and the maintenance works plans.
* Provide support and assist in evaluating existing PM's and setting up new PM's. Supporting PM frequencies or advising of required changes to best add value to the lines and maintenance time.
* Work with the maintenance team in the planning of shutdown works and machine overhauls.
* Train and support technicians/operators on existing and new machines.
* Coordinate with engineering stores ensuring the stocking of machine spare parts.
* Assist engineering stores in the evaluation of existing spare parts stocks and play an active part in reducing redundant stock.
* Assist the health and safety team in carrying out risk assessments of new and existing machines and ensuring training is rolled out to the Maintenance Team regarding same.
* Assist/coordinate the execution of health and safety machine/line upgrades and machine compliance in line with guarding and safety regulations.
* Involvement in lean projects and process improvements.
* Create/update best practice methods for specific tasks on equipment in the plant, document, and train same.
* Planned preventative maintenance and breakdown support is part of this role, transferring skills to other team members.
* Record daily tasks on CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
