Ability West provides a wide range of high-quality services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities and autism across Galway City and County. Services provided are day, residential, short breaks, community supports, rehabilitative training and multi-disciplinary supports. The Role:
* Provide daily transport services to people we support attending Ability West's centres as directed by the Manager of Ancillary Services.
* Provision of transport in general for people we support e.g. outings, swimming, etc. as requested by the Manager of Ancillary Services.
* To drive the vehicle in a safe manner in accordance with the Rules of the Road and any relevant Road Traffic Acts which may be in operation.
* Be responsible for the general upkeep of the bus and ensure that it is kept clean and tidy at all times.
Essential Criteria:
* A full, clean B, D & D1 driving licence.
* An awareness of and interest in the needs of people with an intellectual and physical disability.
* Evidence of the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence.
