Overview
The Cloud and AI Platforms (CAIP) team within the Commercial Solution Area (CSA) organization are pivotal in driving the Solution Area strategy, solutions and innovation for customers and partners. The CAIP Go-to-Market (GTM) team is responsible for driving the Go-to-Market strategy and Sales activation, connecting the customer and field sales and delivery teams with product and marketing.
As a Business Architect for Cloud & AI Platforms (CAIP), you will lead global go-to-market (GTM) strategy for Azure Databases, to deliver growth across all customer segments. This entails designing the Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy, building the route-to-market and driving the growth acceleration by enabling field teams and maximizing customer and partner value. As a result, this role requires cross functional partnership across Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Sales Enablement & Operations and Field Sales.
As a Director, Business Architect For Azure Databases you will be the leader of your Databases business, you will serve as a strategic advisor to CAIP GTM leadership—translating insights into strategy, strategy into execution with the right enablement; while modeling and fostering a collaborative, inclusive and growth mindset. This position offers visibility with senior leadership and the opportunity to shape how Microsoft delivers next-generation Cloud and AI experiences.

Qualifications
 * Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years experience in business consulting, sales, sales operations, information technology (IT), account management, business development, marketing, IT field sales, or a related field
 o OR equivalent experience.
 * 6+ years experience in in Near Term Strategy (2 years out), Management Consulting, Sales, or Finance.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
 * Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 5+ years of marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience
 o OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years of marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience
 o OR equivalent experience.
Sales Strategy Enablement IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year. Responsibilities
 * GTM Strategy & Execution: Design and drive scalable GTM plans aligned with market trends, customer needs, and Microsoft priorities. Track objective and key results (OKRs)/key performance indicators (KPIs) and lead cross-org initiatives.
 * Stakeholder Alignment: Influence corporate and field teams to build consensus and momentum around GTM strategy.
 * Sales Model Innovation: Define and orchestrate sales motions that accelerate pipeline velocity and customer success.
 * Blueprint & Capacity Planning: Shape coverage models and resource allocation to optimize growth and efficiency.
 * Incentives & Compensation: Design performance-driven incentive structures aligned with business goals.
 * Customer & Partner Engagement: Represent GTM in executive forums, synthesize insights, and ensure unified messaging across teams.
 * Operational Leadership: Manage headcount, budget, and vendor strategy in partnership with Finance and HR.
 * Team Culture & Communications: Champion inclusion, collaboration, and clarity through internal communications and recognition programs.
