Transport Operations Manager
Are you an experienced transport professional ready to take the lead in a fast-paced, growing operation?
We are seeking a
Transport Operations Manager
to oversee the end-to-end performance of our clients transport division and drive excellence across service, safety and colleague management.
About the Role
Reporting to the senior transport leadership team, you will be accountable for the smooth, compliant and efficient running of all transport activities.
You will ensure our drivers, helpers and fleet operate to the highest standards while consistently delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
People Management
Leadership and performance management of driver and helper teams
Recruitment, onboarding and training of new colleagues
Absence management and colleague engagement initiatives
Managing mandatory and ongoing training requirements
Operational Excellence
Ensuring safe, compliant daily transport operations
Managing resource levels across drivers, helpers and fleet requirements
PPE management and adherence to Health & Safety standards
Accident reporting, investigation and corrective actions
Performance & Continuous Improvement
Monitoring and improving KPIs across service, safety and operational efficiency
Supporting departmental projects and initiativesBudget preparation and financial oversight
Customer Focus
Working closely with Customer Service teams to resolve queries efficiently
Supporting new customer onboarding, including site visits
Collaborating with planners to optimise routing and scheduling
What We're Looking For
A strong, people-focused leader with strong experience managing transport operations
Experience working within a high-tempo operational setting, handling challenges and changes efficiently.
Excellent understanding of transport compliance, safety and best practice
Ability to drive team engagement and continuous improvement
A proactive problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic environment
