Job title Staff Nurse (Admission and Recovery responsibilities) Hours:30hrs per week Salary: 31,200 Reports to Lead nurse/Registered Manager/Operations Director/CEO & Medical Director Job purpose To provide professional nursing services to ensure that patients get adequate care and support and recover on time in a day surgery setting. Duties and responsibilities Provide direct, professional nursing care to clients in a day surgery setting. Assist doctors, surgeons and senior nurses during examinations and treatments. Recording patients vital signs and medical information. Monitoring patients, recording and reporting symptoms or changes in patient conditions to provide the most suitable care and advice. Performing routine procedures such as administering non-intravenous medications, taking blood pressure measurements and completing patients charts. Administering medications to patients, monitoring for potential reactions or side effects and reporting to the physician. Assess the patient to ensure they can be discharged. Provide instant medical care in emergencies. Supervise other staff and work without direct supervision. Maintain confidentiality of patient records. Work as part of a team. The performance of other duties within your capabilities may be required to meet the needs of the business. In such cases you will be required to undertake such reasonable requests. Qualifications & Skills Qualified RGN or ODP Diploma Live NMC Registration 2 years experience. Knowledge of nursing care procedures and methods. Patient, compassionate and empathetic nature. Excellent understanding of health and safety protocols. Knowledge of emergency care. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Proactive, friendly, and professional person who is confident managing their own workload. Energetic and enthusiastic approach to work. Good IT skills, use of Excel, Word, Outlook. Right to work in the UK Previous experience in a day surgery setting is desirable.
