This entry-level role is designed to provide a high-calibre engineering graduate with immediate, hands-on exposure to large-scale electrical infrastructure, power distribution, and industrial automation projects.
You will join an experienced technical team and benefit from a structured mentorship programme, moving quickly from theoretical concepts to implementing live electrical solutions across various site operations.
Core Responsibilities Working under the guidance of Senior Electrical Engineers, you will support the technical lifecycle of site electrical systems: System Design Support: Assist in the design and layout of electrical control panels and power distribution networks using CAD software.
Testing & Commissioning: Participate in the testing and commissioning of new electrical installations, ensuring compliance with ETCI/RECI standards.
Fault Diagnosis: Support the maintenance team in diagnosing electrical faults on industrial machinery, motors, and variable speed drives (VSDs).
Automation Assistance: Help with the basic integration and troubleshooting of PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and sensor technologies.
Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate electrical schematics, O&M manuals, and cable schedules for all site modifications.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all works are carried out in strict adherence to Health & Safety regulations and national wiring rules.
Candidate Profile Education: A Level 8 Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline.
Technical Foundation: A strong academic understanding of three-phase power, electrical circuit design, and control logic.
Software Skills: Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar electrical design software gained through university projects or internships.
Aptitude: A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a keen interest in industrial environments and heavy machinery.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with site operatives and management.
Compensation Salary Range: €35,000 €40,000 per annum (Negotiable based on academic record and internship experience).
