Acting as second in charge to the Head of Sales, you will provide leadership support, commercial insight, and mentorship across the team.This role combines front‑line sales execution with strategic leadership responsibilities, making it ideal for an experienced sales professional ready to step into broader influence.Key ResponsibilitiesNew Business Development (Primary Focus)Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across medium and large organisations.Build and maintain a strong, high‑value sales pipeline.Own the end‑to‑end sales process, from prospecting and discovery to proposal, negotiation, and close.Consistently achieve and exceed new business revenue targets.Develop compelling, value‑led solutions aligned to client needs.Represent the organisation in client meetings, pitches, and industry events.Strategic Key Account ManagementManage and grow relationships with two designated Financial Institution key accounts.Identify and deliver upsell and cross‑sell opportunities to maximise account value.Act as a trusted commercial partner to senior client stakeholders.Ensure high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and long‑term partnership.Leadership & Team DevelopmentAct as deputy to the Head of Sales, providing leadership cover and support when required.Coach, mentor, and support sales team members to raise performance and capability.Share best practice in new business development, pipeline management, and deal closure.Contribute to onboarding and development of new sales team members.Strategy, Insight & CollaborationSupport the Head of Sales in shaping and executing sales strategy.Provide accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.Share market intelligence, competitor insight, and customer feedback.Collaborate closely with senior leadership to support sustainable business growth.What we are looking forProven track record of successfully generating new business in a B2B sales environment.Experience selling to medium and large organisations, ideally within financial services or a related sector.Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and senior stakeholders.Experience managing and growing key strategic accounts.Previous experience in a senior sales or deputy leadership role is desirable.Strong understanding of sales pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM system (Salesforce).Experience working towards and exceeding challenging revenue targets.New Business Hunter Mentality - Proactive, persistent, and driven to win new clients.Commercial Acumen - Strong understanding of revenue, margin, and business drivers.Relationship Building -Able to build credibility and trust with senior decision-makers.Leadership & Influence -Leads by example and positively influences others.
