Senior Health & Safety Officer (Construction)
A leading Irish construction specialist delivering high-quality projects commercial, data centre, pharmaceutical, and technical sectors is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Officer to support projects across the Munster region.
Role & Duties
Ensure subcontractors meet health & safety prequalification requirements prior to commencement
Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements for all site activities
Support development and maintenance of Construction Phase Plans, H&S Files, and Project Quality Plans
Ensure weekly Toolbox Talks are delivered by site teams
Promote and support use of Safe Plans of Action (SPAs) on site
Ensure Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Plans are in place and followed
Participate in daily site coordination and whiteboard meetings
Provide ongoing guidance to site teams to ensure compliance with procedures and standards
Mentor and support new team members in H&S practices and procedures
Investigate incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions
Liaise with client representatives and attend H&S meetings as required
Work with site teams to review and improve overall project safety performance
Requirements
Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent qualification)
Strong understanding of construction health & safety legislation and best practice
Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital H&S systems
Experience implementing H&S systems in construction environments (preferred)
Familiarity with ISO ***** and related standards (advantageous)
Strong communication, mentoring, and organisational skills
Salary & Package
€80k-€90k+ (depending on experience)
