Job Title: Quality Manager Location: Longford Reporting To: Site Technical Manager Department: Technical Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Quality Manager to join a well-established operation in Longford.
This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance across the site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Quality Team, maintaining and enhancing quality systems, and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Management Lead and manage a dedicated Quality Team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
Work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure seamless quality integration across the operation.
Product & Process Quality Ensure compliance with product specifications, customer requirements, and recognised quality standards.
Oversee implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Drive process optimisation to achieve zero-defect output and minimise operator intervention.
Hygiene & Food Safety Oversee site hygiene practices and cleaning standards through regular reviews and audits.
Ensure food safety protocols are maintained and the HACCP plan is up to date and rigorously followed.
Audit & Compliance Prepare for and lead customer, third-party, and regulatory audits, maintaining the highest grading.
Ensure adherence to relevant legislation, internal procedures, and external codes of practice.
New Product Development (NPD) Collaborate with technical and process teams on NPD projects.
Support product trials, HACCP reviews, and quality requirements for new product launches.
Performance & Continuous Improvement Monitor and report on key technical and quality KPIs.
Implement action plans to reduce customer complaints by 10% year-on-year.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality, cost, and compliance metrics.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Represent the quality function at customer panels and meetings.
Provide technical documentation, KPI data, and gap analyses as required.
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in a management role within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Diploma or higher qualification in a Science, Technology, or Engineering-related discipline.
Proven ability to lead quality teams and manage cross-functional initiatives.
In-depth understanding of quality systems, HACCP, and audit requirements.
Desirable Skills: Familiarity with Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
Previous involvement in process or system development projects.

High level of planning, organisation, and analytical thinking.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to drive change and influence across departments.
Financial awareness and cost control experience.
Performance Indicators: Achievement and maintenance of quality certifications and audit grades.

Improvement in GMP scores and internal compliance metrics.
Effective management of budget, consumables, and hygiene spend.
