What you'll do
* Provide first- and second-line support for all staff, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues quickly and effectively.
* Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and peripherals for laptops, desktops, and engineering workstations.
* Manage core infrastructure including Windows Server, Azure Entra ID, SonicWall firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VLANs, and VPNs.
* Administer cloud and SaaS environments including Google Workspace, AWS.
* Implement and maintain system patching, updates, backups, and disaster recovery processes in line with policy.
* Enforce security controls, MFA, access management, and endpoint protection across the organisation.
* Maintain asset inventories and documentation to support operational continuity and compliance audits.
* Support secure environments for engineering workloads, including CAD, PDM, and HPC systems.
* Collaborate with the Director of Cyber & Information Security on incident response, monitoring, and continuous improvement of IT security posture.
* Provide technical input into IT and security projects, including infrastructure upgrades, cloud deployments, and automation initiatives.
Who you are
* Strong experience in both IT support and infrastructure administration, ideally in a multi-site or engineering/manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency with Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Azure Entra ID/Azure AD, and Google Workspace administration.
* Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, firewall configuration).
* Hands-on experience with SonicWall or equivalent firewall platforms.
* Familiarity with AWS services (VPC, EC2, IAM) and cloud security best practices.
* Understanding of endpoint protection, MFA, and patch management.
* Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
* Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to Have
* Experience with CAD/PDM environments (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Ansys).
* Familiarity with Jira, Bitbucket, and development pipelines.
* Exposure to ISO 27001, NIS2, or similar compliance frameworks.
