We are seeking an experienced Ecological Consultant to join our multidisciplinary consultancy team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in ecological consultancy and a minimum of 4/5 years post-graduate experience.
The role will involve managing ecology contracts, providing ecological input into various projects, conducting fieldwork and species/habitat surveys, preparing construction environmental management plans, and leading the preparation of Appropriate Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments, and Biodiversity chapters.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Ecology or a related discipline, full membership (or eligibility) of CIEEM, CIWEM, or a similar professional body, strong technical report writing and project management skills, and in-depth knowledge of Irish wildlife and conservation legislation.
Key responsibilities include:
* Manage ecology contracts and ensure delivery of high-quality consultancy services.
* Provide ecological input into a range of projects including wind farms, road schemes, and commercial developments.
* Conduct and oversee ecological fieldwork and species/habitat surveys.
* Prepare and review Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs).
* Lead the preparation of Appropriate Assessments (AA), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), and Biodiversity chapters for EIARs.
* Write and review detailed technical reports.
Key qualifications include:
* Degree in Ecology or a related discipline.
* Minimum 4/5 years' relevant post-graduate experience in consultancy.
* Full membership (or eligibility) of CIEEM, CIWEM, or a similar professional body.
* Strong technical report writing and project management skills.
* In-depth knowledge of Irish wildlife and conservation legislation.
