Job Description
Inland fisheries and sea angling resources are a vital part of Ireland's natural heritage. As a Seasonal Fisheries Officer, you will play a crucial role in protecting and conserving these resources for future generations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing conservation and enforcement measures to protect fish populations and habitats. This includes conducting patrols on lakes, rivers, sea, coast, and estuaries to check for illegal fishing activities.
You will also be involved in monitoring scientific data, conducting research surveys, and participating in habitat improvement schemes. Additionally, you may work collaboratively with other teams to develop good relationships with stakeholders such as An Garda Síochána.
* A minimum Leaving Certificate (Level 5 NFQ) or recognised equivalent is required along with full Category B driving license that is valid in Ireland.
* No convictions under the Irish Fisheries Legislation are acceptable while eligible to work in the State fluent English both spoken and written is essential good knowledge of computer skills including MS Office
Competent kayaking Level 3 powerboat Level 2 experience desirable however not necessary.
Safeguarding training before taking up your duties compulsory requirement please note due process involving vetting via National Vetting Bureau must commence prior appointments
