The roleWe’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Plug and Play (Integrations) team. You’ll lead a squad responsible for building and shaping the foundations of Nory’s integration platform, owning complex problems end-to-and and helping define how our systems, processes, and engineering culture evolve as we scale. Your performance will be measured by the outcomes your team delivers: product impact, engineering quality, and the growth of the engineers you support.You’ll set direction for the squad, coach engineers, and ensure strong execution across product and technical initiatives. While you’ll remain close to the technical work and may contribute to code where helpful, the role’s primary responsibility is leading the team and ensuring the squad consistently delivers high-impact outcomes.The teams you’ll work with are small, nimble and packed full of top engineering talent that can tackle the hardest challenges in engineering, machine learning and AI at pace. Our ambition is to build one of the best product teams in Europe, so we need leaders who also can work at the same level and share our ambition.What you’ll be doingYou’ll focus on helping your squad deliver meaningful product outcomes:Lead a cross-functional engineering squad, setting direction, enabling delivery, and ensuring the team ships reliable solutions that solve real operational problems.Own team outcomes, ensuring your squad consistently delivers impactful work while maintaining strong engineering standards.Develop engineers through coaching and feedback, helping them grow their technical and product capabilities.Drive delivery discipline, ensuring the team prioritises effectively, manages scope, and lands work reliably.Partner closely with Product, Data, Design, and Customer teams to shape solutions that balance correctness, usability, and delivery speed.Stay close to the technical work, guiding architecture, reviewing code, and helping unblock engineers when needed.Foster a healthy, high-performing team culture with clear expectations, strong communication, and accountability.Your team will work on complex problems such as:Designing Nory’s external API (OpenAPI), and shipping the first endpoints to customers and partners. This will shift integrations from bespoke, high-touch work to a scalable platform, enabling faster onboarding and ensuring the data powering Nory’s AI tools is high-quality.Making integrations truly “plug and play” by building self-serve integration flows in our integrations marketplace. This will reduce onboarding time and operational overhead, allowing us to scale without linear increases in support.In your first 6 months, you will:Build a deep understanding of Nory’s integrations landscape, including current onboarding flows and key pain points across customers and internal teams.The Plug & Play team is less than a year old and growing, so you will shape how the team operates, defining ways of working, delivery expectations, and team culture.Partner closely with product, sales, customer support, and partnerships to shape the roadmap and ensure the team is solving the highest-impact problems.Identify and begin addressing key technical gaps, particularly around integration scalability, data reliability, and operational overhead.What you’ll bringEngineering leadership: You’ve led an engineering squad and take accountability for team outcomes, team health, and delivery.
