Overview
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? Medforce are seeking a committed Social Worker to join our client’s dedicated Young Adults Mental Health Service, working with individuals aged 16–18 years and their families.
The base for this role is in Portlaoise (CHO8).
As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist mental health and developmental support to young people navigating complex emotional, behavioural, and psychological challenges. The service aims to promote recovery, resilience, and positive outcomes through a person-centred and evidence-based approach.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct psychosocial assessments of young people and their families
* Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to the needs of individuals and families
* Collaborate closely with psychology, psychiatry, occupational therapy, nursing, and educational professionals
* Advocate for the rights and needs of service users within the wider social care and educational systems
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional standards
Essential Criteria
* Recognised qualification in Social Work and registration with CORU
* Experience working with young people with mental health difficulties and developmental conditions
* Skilled in assessing young people and their families, including risk and needs assessments
* Proven ability to deliver evidence-based interventions in a therapeutic setting
* Sound knowledge of legislation, policy, and safeguarding practices relevant to children and young people in Ireland
Desirable
* Post-qualification experience in child and adolescent mental health or youth services
* Training in therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT-informed work, or family systems interventions
