Overview
Brothers of Charity Services Ireland offers a variety of residential, day, respite, assessment, and clinical services to individuals with varying degrees of intellectual disability.
Many of the people we support have additional needs, including autism, behaviours that challenge, and physical or sensory disabilities.
Services and supports are provided to over 6,500 people and their families throughout counties Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Roscommon, Tipperary, Wexford and Wat.
Location and service areas may include Clonard Adult Services (Castlerea, Ballintubber, Ballinlough, Cloonfad areas).
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
Locum Community Facilitator roles are also available.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement educational, social, vocational, recreational and personal development goals for people supported in the service.
Fulfil a key worker role for people supported and work to develop active roles and increase participation in local communities.
Qualifications / Experience
QQI Level 6 qualification relevant to the Social Care sector (e.g., Social Care, Training/Education, Community Development, Nursing, Creative Arts, Creative Digital Media).
Full clean manual driving licence valid for manual transmission on Irish roads; class D1 licence may be required; assistance available to obtain D1.
Experience with people with an intellectual disability, autism, or complex needs is desirable; induction and training provided.
Flexibility, teamwork, patience and a sense of humour.
Fluency in verbal and written English; proficiency in IT skills.
Working Hours
1 x Permanent Part-Time 74 hours per fortnight
Normal hours are Monday – Friday in day services.
Weekend work may be required.
Contracted hours may change from 8am to 8pm over 7 days to meet service needs.
The service model emphasizes Personal Outcome Measures, quality and person-centred planning with flexibility in hours.
22 days per annum (pro-rata for part-time).
Remuneration
Department of Health Instructor / Supervisor salary scales as at 01/08/2025: €35,432 x 12 increments - €51,373 per annum (pro-rata for part-time).
Salary quoted is for a 39-hour week; incremental credit may be awarded subject to verification of previous public sector service.
A panel may be formed for subsequent permanent, temporary or fixed-term Community Facilitator appointments within Clonard Adult Services over the next 6–12 months.
