Overview
The post of CNM2 Cedarwood Ward has a pivotal role in service planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the acute clinical area.
The main responsibilities include quality assurance, people management, resource management, staffing and staff development, practice development, facilitating communication and professional / clinical leadership.
The CNM2 is a critical clinical front-line post and is required to safeguard patient care.
The CNM2 manages Cedarwood Ward from a leadership and administrative perspective.
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of the highest standard of nursing care to acute medical patients, manage all nursing and allied staff in the ward and be responsible for maintaining and developing professional standards.

There is currently 1 permanent, whole-time vacancy available.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
Essential Criteria
Candidates must have at the latest date of application: -
Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
(a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered.
And
Have at least 5 years post registration experience (or an aggregate of 5 years fulltime post registration experience) of which 2 years must be in the speciality or related area – Medical, Acute Hospital Experience.
And
Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
And
(b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
Annual registration
On appointment, practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).
And
Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Age
Age restriction shall only apply to a candidate where s/he is not classified as a new entrant (within
the meaning of the Public Service Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, A
candidate who is not classified as a new entrant must be under 65 years of age on the first day of
the month in which the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office occurs.
Health
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character
Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
