Staff Nurse (St Marys Ward) - 2 positions, Permanent. 37.5 hours per week.Job PurposeStaff nurses in the St Marys Ward are responsible for providing a high standard of nursing care to patients, applying nursing processes and professional knowledge to care for patients from paediatric to elderly.Ideal CandidateAbility to work as part of a team providing a quality service.Personally and professionally accountable for patient care.RGN qualification and NMBI registration.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Flexible approach to work patterns and rotations between days and nights.Essential QualificationsRegistered, or eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses kept by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).Post-registration nursing experience, preferably in a surgical area.Experience & ResponsibilityCarry out nursing care and treatments to the highest possible standard according to agreed policies, procedures and guidelines.Participate in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care based on the nursing process approach and maintain appropriate records.Implement discharge planning based on patient care needs, administer medicines, IV drugs, blood/blood products and controlled drugs according to agreed policies.Record and monitor patients post-administration according to policy and report any adverse events or medication errors.Adhere to best practice guidelines in infection control and work closely with Infection Control Nurse.Handle and correctly dispose of medical waste per hospital policy.Closing date for applications: Tuesday - 23rd June 2026.Contact InformationInformal enquiries to: Tara Kelly, tarkelly@bonsecours.ie.
