The Commercial Finance Manager is a key partner to the leadership, operations and commercial team. Reporting to the CFO the succesful candidate will have a naturally analytical mindset and are energised by digging into data, validating assumptions, building structured models and delivering insights with precision and clarity to help achieve it's growth ambitions. This role is a hands on analytically focused role, supporting management with insight, performance analysis, and decision support across the business.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ownership of the full month‑end reporting cycle: management accounts, variance analysis, commentary, trend insights
Budgeting & forecasting ownership, including quarterly re‑forecasts and scenario analysis
Prepare and maintain advanced financial models to support planning, margin analysis and investment decisions
Run sensitivity and scenario analyses to support decision‑making and long‑range planning.
Partner with functional leaders (Operations, Commercial, Sales, Marketing) to provide data‑driven recommendations
Build KPI dashboards which deliver actionable commercial insights.
Support commercial negotiations through structured financial modelling and risk/return assessment.
Support pricing, costing models, new‑business proposals and strategic commercial decisions.
Drive cashflow management, working capital optimisation, and forward‑looking insight
Enhance finance systems, automate reporting, and drive data integrity improvements
Confidently challenge assumptions and influence decisions using evidence‑based analysis.
Prepare business cases, investment appraisals and margin improvement analysis.
Education & Skills
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with 5–7+ years PQE in commercial finance, FP&A or analytical finance
Strong modelling, Excel and analytical toolkit
Highly detail‑oriented with excellent problem‑solving skills
Experience supporting commercial, sales or operations teams is advantageous
Power BI or ERP analytics exposure beneficial
Excellent communication skills, able to distil complex analysis into simple insights
