Empowerment Specialist
We are seeking an individual to play a key role in empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to thrive in their daily lives.
The Empowerment Specialist will work closely with internal and external services, fostering a culture of collaboration and partnership. They will build strong relationships with families to ensure holistic support and advocate for inclusion and active participation in the community.
Key responsibilities include:
* Maintaining accurate records and completing relevant reports
* Ensuring all documentation meets required standards
* Providing physical, emotional, psychological, and healthcare support
* Facilitating life skills development through hobbies, interests, and activities
* Teaching skills such as budgeting, cooking, communication, and time management
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HIQA regulations, the Disability Act, Health & Safety legislation, Data Protection, and GDPR compliance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for engaging effectively with individuals, families, colleagues, managers, and senior team members.
Required qualifications include:
* QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent qualifications
* Minimum 1 year's relevant experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities
* A passion for promoting and empowering those you support
