Job Title: Financial Operations Director
We are seeking a skilled and experienced financial professional to lead our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with new client onboarding policies, risk management, credit checks, and contract terms.
* Manage project data on our in-house project management platform to ensure accurate and complete information is uploaded for new and existing clients.
* Oversight of sales invoicing, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
* Introduce improved processes for invoicing, applications, and WIP.
* Assist with credit control, resolving queried or overdue debts.
* Collate management accounts information from teams, liaising with the central finance team to produce divisional MI.
* Review project profitability and make recommendations.
* Audit WIP balances across different locations to verify balances.
* Coordinate the annual budgeting process by teams, collating information, and submitting budgets in line with company-wide policy and timetable.
* Manage support staff in the two divisions who assist in collating financial information.
* Oversight of divisional overhead expenditure against budget and ensure appropriate cost control.
Requirements:
* A qualified accountant with experience working in an engineering consultancy or contracting business, in a similar role.
* Knowledge of construction-specific payment mechanisms, applications for payment, etc.
* Experience supporting resolution of payment disputes.
* Attention to detail, tenacity, and robustness are key characteristics required to succeed, together with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* MS Office and ideally Navision accounting system knowledge.
