Fitter / Machine Assembler Automation Manufacturing Equipment
Our clients are a growing firm and part of a multi-national group. They are seeking an experienced Fitter/Assembler to join their team of engineers who design and build bespoke manufacturing equipment.
This is a hands-on role that involves the assembly of bespoke manufacturing equipment, working closely with other professionals in a dynamic environment.
The Role:
* Installation of electrical components and wiring in accordance with schematic diagrams.
* Installation of pneumatic components, pipe-work and equipment in accordance with pneumatics diagrams.
* Preparation and assembly of cable and pipe ways, bracketing and support systems.
* Connection of electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.
* Reading and comprehending instructions and following established procedures.
* Collecting all material and equipment needed to begin the process.
* Taking precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components.
* Selecting or modifying components according to measurements and specifications.
* Aligning material and putting together parts to build more complex units.
* Checking output to ensure highest quality.
* Maintaining equipment in good condition.
* Keeping records of production quantities and time.
* Reporting on issues, malfunction or defective parts.
* Carrying out pre-commissioning checks and testing.
* Preventative maintenance of systems by routine inspection.
* Performing effective diagnostics to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or replace damaged components.
* Undertaking installations at customer premises.
The Person:
* A proven track record as a multi-skilled (Electrical and Mechanical) fitter.
* Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical and mechanical systems.
* The ability to use electrical hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, multi-meter etc.) and follow electrical and pneumatic schematic diagrams and drawings.
* A thorough knowledge of safety procedures and applicable regulations and guidelines.
* Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
* Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings etc.
* The ability to use mechanical hand tools and machines.
* A good understanding of quality control principles.
* Good communication skills (verbal and written).
* Good health, physically mobile and happy to work in a variety of industrial environments.
* Relevant vocational training or completion of an apprenticeship as an electrical and mechanical engineer.
* The ability to identify and understand the requirements of the internal customer.
* All-round proficiency in communication.
* Maintaining a clean and organized working environment.
* Keeping up to date with company procedures and news.
