Excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging marine & civil infrastructure projects Geotechnical Engineer required to join a specialist Marine & Civil Engineering Consultancy in Ireland. This is an office-based role offering exposure to complex and unique projects across ports, coastal defences, quay walls, and marine infrastructure nationwide. The successful Geotechnical Engineer will play a key role in the planning, design and assessment of geotechnical solutions for marine and civil structures. Sample Projects: Quay wall and pier upgrades involving ground investigations, retaining walls and piling design. Port expansion and dredging support works values €10M€100M+. Coastal protection and scour remediation schemes. Structural refurbishment and ground improvement for existing marine infrastructure. Requirements: Degree or Masters in Geotechnical / Civil Engineering or equivalent. 37+ years geotechnical engineering experience in Ireland or the UK. Proven experience in geotechnical investigation design, interpretation, and reporting. Strong technical knowledge of foundations, retaining structures, ground improvement, and soil-structure interaction. Familiarity with Eurocode 7 and relevant Irish / UK geotechnical standards. Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design software (e.g. PLAXIS, WALLAP, Oasys, or similar). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Salary / Benefits: Excellent salary circa €55K€75K+ (DOE) plus benefits. Paid professional membership fees.
