NUWAVE POSITION SUMMARYNUWAVE is seeking a technically strong and commercially aware AWS DevOps Engineer to join our global infrastructure team. This role is remote but limited to candidates based in Ireland and combines deep AWS networking expertise with pre-sales and quoting support responsibilities.In addition to managing scalable, secure AWS networking environments (e.g., Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, CloudWAN, BGP), this role will work closely with our Sales and Product teams to support and help quote both physical interconnects (NNIs/Direct Connects) and AWS Direct Connect services.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Cloud Infrastructure & DevOpsDesign and maintain AWS cloud networking architectures:VPCs, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, CloudWAN, BGP routingManage hybrid cloud connectivity between AWS and on-prem data centersUse Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDKMaintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, etc.)Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network and cloud performance and securityAny other duties management choses to amend from time to timeSales Engineering SupportCollaborate with Sales to assess and design customer connectivity solutions involving:Physical NNIs/Direct Connect circuitsAWS Direct Connect with Hosted or Dedicated optionsAssist in quoting and solution design, including bandwidth planning, region availability, and high-availability scenariosServe as a technical point of contact for pre-sales customer calls related to cloud connectivityTranslate technical cloud networking requirements into business-aligned deliverablesOther Duties And ResponsibilitiesSome on-call work (weekends/holidays) may be required.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNoneMinimum Qualifications (knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)3–5+ years in a DevOps, Cloud Networking, or Sales Engineering role with strong AWS experienceDeep understanding of AWS networking services, including:Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, CloudWAN, BGP, VPNExperience supporting or working alongside Sales or Product teams on quoting or solution designHands-on proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK for infrastructure provisioningSolid scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.)Excellent communication and customer-facing skillsBased in Ireland or Australia and able to work independently in a remote-first environmentHighly organized, strategically focused, detail orientedExperience with handling and maintaining highly confidential informationAbility to work from home with little supervisionProficient in the use of MS Office, Internet, e-mail and collaborationFast learner with a "get it done" attitudePreferred QualificationsAWS Certifications such as:AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – ProfessionalAWS Certified Advanced Networking – SpecialtyFamiliarity with Layer 2 and Layer 3 interconnects, colocation ecosystems, and physical cross-connect processesExperience with hybrid DNS, security groups, routing policies, and multi-region cloud designPrior experience working with quoting systems or product management tools is a plus.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTNone.Equipment Necessary To Complete Job ResponsibilitiesDesk PhoneMobile PhoneComputer/Laptop (supplied)Internet ConnectionNote: This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) incumbent in this position.
