Description We are seeking a passionate and experienced Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist for The Way finding Centrewith a focus on the disability and mobility The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement training programmes to deliver to a broad range of stakeholders.
You will work closely with key stakeholders to ensure that training initiatives are inclusive, accessible, and tailored to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners.
Location: Glasnevin, Dublin.
Contracted hours:37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
This role involves a combination of on-site duties as well as tasks performed in various external settings.
Some flexibility is required surrounding working outside the stated working week on occasion, when required.

The Wayfinding Centre Vision Irelands ground breaking new service The Wayfinding Centreis an immersive, user-friendly transport training environment that aims to facilitate safer and more inclusive journeys in Ireland.
The centre prioritises the provision of travel training programs designed to help those with access requirements, reduced mobility and disabilities build the skills and confidence to navigate public transport safely and easily.
A first of its kind, the centre provides a diverse suite of learning opportunities including disability equality and awareness training, inclusive design workshops and hosting transport accessibility projects with transport, urban realm and academic stakeholders to help address the transport accessibility gap all while placing individuals with disabilities at the core of its work.
Key Responsibilities: Training Design & Development: Develop and deliver a comprehensive L&D strategy that supports the organisation's goals.
Create and curate training content that is accessible and relevant for all employees, with a special focus on disability awareness, inclusion, and accessibility.
Utilise a variety of instructional methods, including in-person workshops, and blended learning approaches, ensuring they are inclusive for individuals with disabilities.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with department heads and external partners to identify training needs and develop customised learning solutions.
Engage with individuals with disabilities to ensure that training programmes address their unique needs and challenges.
Build partnerships with disability advocacy groups, transport providers, design professionals and training providers to stay informed on best practices and emerging trends.
Programme Implementation & Management: Roll out training programmes in line with the values and mission of the organisation, ensuring high levels of participation and engagement.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, using data and feedback to make continuous improvements.
Ensure that all training materials are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements related to disability inclusion and accessibility.
Facilitation & Delivery: Lead workshops, seminars, and training sessions, adapting delivery methods to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
Provide coaching and mentoring to employees and managers to foster a culture of continuous learning and inclusion.
Evaluation & Reporting: Assess the impact of L&D programmes and make amendments as necessary Report on training effectiveness, participation rates, and return on investment (ROI) to senior management.
Use feedback and data analytics to refine and improve L&D strategies and programmes continually.
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.
Selection Criteria Education: Relevant third level qualification Certifications in Learning & Development, Disability Awareness, or Orientation & Mobility are advantageous.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Learning & Development role, with a background in/significant knowledge of the disability sector a strong advantage.
Proven experience in designing and delivering accessible training programs.
Experience working with diverse teams and individuals with disabilities.
Skills: Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to promoting disability inclusion and accessibility.
Personal Attributes: Passionate about learning and development with a focus on making a positive impact in the disability sector.
Collaborative and team-oriented, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
Adaptable and open to continuous learning, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
