Position Summary
Bentley is seeking a Proposal Manager to join the Account Advancement Group (AAG) Operations group.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Proposal Team, this role is responsible for leading end-to-end proposal engagements—from qualification through contract award.
The Proposal Manager ensures the delivery of compliant, competitive, and high-quality responses that effectively advance opportunities through the sales cycle.
This role also leverages AI-enabled tools and modern workflows to enhance RFx analysis, content development, and overall response optimization.
Business fluency in German is required.
Responsibilities
Analyze and synthesize RFx requirements and proactive proposal requests to develop clear, compliant, and compelling responses
Lead proposal planning, including timelines, content outlines, and win strategies
Manage end-to-end proposal development, incorporating AI-assisted research, drafting, and content refinement
Identify, coordinate, and guide cross-functional pursuit teams to align on strategy and execution
Drive bid/no-bid decisions using established criteria and sound commercial judgment
Conduct competitive analysis and shape positioning strategies
Track proposal progress, manage risks, and ensure adherence to deadlines
Manage internal governance, approvals, and compliance processes
Oversee final proposal production to ensure quality, consistency, and timely submission
Develop and maintain reusable content, including win themes and response assets
Collaborate with Content, Solution, and Deal Desk teams to ensure strategic alignment and commercial integrity
Monitor and report on KPIs such as cycle time, cost of bid, and win rates
Lead post-submission reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement
Promote a collaborative, "One Bentley" approach across all stakeholder groups
Qualifications
Business fluency in German is required.
Bachelor's or master's degree, or equivalent professional experience.
3+ years of experience in proposal management or a related field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong analytical thinking and the ability to synthesize complex information.
Proven project management and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
Experience developing and editing technical and commercial content.
Familiarity with proposal automation and collaboration tools (e.g., Qvidian, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams).
Comfortable working with AI-enabled tools for RFx analysis, content generation, and workflow optimization.
Understanding of solution-based software sales environments.
High attention to detail combined with strategic thinking.
Data-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
APMP certification (preferred).
Business fluency in French or Spanish (a plus).
