Consultant in Geriatric Medicine / Geriatrician I am partnering with HSE Public Hospitals in Ireland to appoint Consultants in Geriatric Medicine / Geriatricians. Sample Duties: Lead a multidisciplinary frail / Elderly team within an acute hospital. Ensure the provision of a dedicated, integrated, acute day hospital assessment at primary care centres for frail old people. Maximise opportunities for giving care in day hospital thus avoiding Hospital admissions where appropriate. Enhance current services in areas such as; Falls, Syncope, Osteoporosis + Ortho-Geriatric services. Co-ordinate rehabilitation, long-term care assessments, across regional hospitals, community nursing homes as well as specialist clinics. Work as part of MDT's across areas such as Acute Stroke Care, Orthopaedics, General Internal Medicine. Some roles have a 0.5 WTE Integrated Care Programme for Older Persons (ICPOP) requirement and 0.5 WTE Hospital based requirement. Requirements: Specialist IMC registration or in the process of registering with IMC in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine. OR equivalent EU/EEA or UK GMC Specialist registration Relevant qualifications. Minimum 3 years' relevant experience at a Consultant level. Excellent English and communication skills. Permission to live and work in Ireland as the urgency of these role will prevent the processing of Work Permits / Visas.
