We are seeking a skilled and innovative R&D Engineer II to join our team. As an R&D Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and testing of medical devices and systems.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in science-related disciplines and 2-5 years of experience in R&D, ideally in the medical device industry. You will be responsible for working on well-defined tasks and projects with guidance from senior engineers or managers.

You will support the design and development process, including feasibility, prototyping, testing, verification/validation, and product launch. Additionally, you will apply new and existing technologies, materials, and processes to deliver products.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work on well-defined tasks and projects with guidance from senior engineers or managers.

* Support the design and development process, including feasibility, prototyping, testing, verification/validation, and product launch.

* Apply new and existing technologies, materials, and processes to deliver products.

* Create engineering specifications, drawings, and prototypes.

* Learn CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to develop and design concepts, components, and systems.
">
* Develop prototypes and conduct hands-on testing to evaluate functionality and durability.
">
* Support feasibility studies and risk assessments to ensure regulatory compliance, performance, and safety standards.
">
* Utilize problem-solving tools such as Root Cause Analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE).
">
* Analyze data, prepare detailed reports, and make recommendations.
">
* Collaborate with clinicians and end-users to understand their needs and optimize product functionality based on feedback.
">
* Prepare technical documentation in accordance with regulatory and design control requirements.
">
* Maintain relationships with cross-functional teams (marketing, design assurance, engineering, operations, clinical).
">
* Analyze existing devices and processes to identify opportunities for improvement in quality, cost, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in a science-related discipline with 2-5 years of experience OR a master's degree in Science or Engineering preferred. Experience in project management is also desirable.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a laboratory setting and operate prototype machinery. Travel to Hollister manufacturing facilities and vendor locations as required. The ideal candidate will be able to lift 15-25kg as needed.
