As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing expert care to individuals with intellectual disabilities, utilizing evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality nursing care to individuals with intellectual disabilities, prioritizing their physical and emotional well-being
* Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating Positive Behaviour Support strategies and principles
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, family members, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive support for individuals
* Conduct thorough assessments, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted interventions
* Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and policy developments in Positive Behaviour Support and intellectual disability care
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse Intellectual Disability (RNID) on the live Register of Nurses kept by An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais Na hÉireann (NMBI)
* Minimum 1 year's post-registration full-time experience in the RNID division of the register
* Experience working with adults who have intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviours
* Post-registration programme of study relevant to specialist practice, or written evidence from a Higher Education Institute demonstrating equivalent academic achievement
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, promoting collaboration and communication
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in oral and written English
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to think critically and creatively
