The
4-star Maritime Hotel
in Bantry is seeking a proactive, people-focused
Duty Manager
to join our experienced and dynamic management team. This full-time, year-round role is ideal for someone with
supervisory experience
in hospitality, retail, tourism, or similar, who is ready to step into a more senior and varied operational leadership position.

About The Role
As Duty Manager, you will play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of the hotel. This is a
hands-on role
supporting all departments and ensuring consistent delivery of excellent service, guest satisfaction, and operational standards.
You'll work closely with the Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Events teams, while also being a friendly face for guests seeking information about the hotel, Bantry, or the broader West Cork area.
Full training will be provided
to help you excel in this cross-departmental role.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all departments while on duty, ensuring standards and service delivery are consistently met
* Monitor and adjust staffing levels in response to business needs
* Ensure meeting rooms and banqueting spaces are prepared and presented to standard
* Proactively engage with guests, offering assistance and local insights to enhance their stay
* Respond professionally to guest feedback, resolving issues where needed
* Complete end-of-shift administration, including:
* Passover reports
* Incident logging
* Fire and security walks
Qualifications & Skills
* Essential: Food & Beverage experience is essential for this role
* Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in hospitality, retail, or tourism
* Preferred: Experience in a food & beverage supervisory or leadership role
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Friendly, approachable, and naturally guest-focused
* Capable of managing fast-paced situations and slowing down for meaningful guest interactions
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Proficient in standard IT systems and admin processes
* A team player who can also work independently and take initiative
