Nordex has an exciting opportunity for the role of Wind Turbine Service Technician based at the Meenadreen windfarm in County Donegal

Hours:
Our core hours are 40 per week (Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm) with an requirement to work overtime when required.
Our Service Technicians are also required to be available for any breakdowns and faults at the weekend, working on-call every 2nd or 3rd weekend (depending on the size of your team).
Overtime is paid at time and a half, and you will receive an additional payment for the weekend you are on-call.
How can you make a difference?
As a Wind Turbine Service Technician you will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of Nordex wind turbines for Nordex Energy Ireland, covering turbines across the Meenadreen windfarm.
You will carry out general and specialised work including repairs, troubleshooting and fault-finding activities to achieve a high level of turbine availability.
What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for Wind Turbine availability which means physically troubleshooting turbines with low availability on site in various wind farms as well as analysing data and other information to develop and support action plans that will increase availability in the fleet.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
On-site performance analysis and action plan implementation
Working closely with Technicians and Back Office staff to perform on-the-job demonstrations
Supporting on-site single turbine improvements on problem turbines
Providing on-site software and hardware updates
Supporting online and on-phone technical support
Creating reports on turbine or turbine components
Parameter disabling and alarm change handling when necessary
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in the Mechanical / Electrical industry and be able to demonstrate knowledge of reading electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams.
You will be Mechanical or Electrical trained through a time-served or a technical college qualification (e.g. NFQ Level 6 or above).
You will be able to identify and define problems, extract crucial information from technical data, and develop workable solutions in an environment of continuous change and different challenges.
With a positive attitude and willingness to learn, lead, and improve.
You are computer literate and confident in using MS Office, in-hour databases and workload management systems; bonus points if you have used SAP.
This role involves working at heights, up to 100m.
You will need to be fit and healthy and pass a working at height test.
You will be required to travel on a regular basis which includes nights away from home.
A full UK / EU Driving Licence is required for this role.
