We are now accepting applications for positions as direct entry Chefs. The role involves on-base duties at the Navy base (Cobh, Cork) and sea rotations.
About the Chef Role:
* A Chef is an essential member of the Logistics Team, providing nourishment to a ship's company.
* The Chef purchases, prepares, and serves nutritious food to naval personnel, boosting morale onboard, especially in challenging conditions.
* Working within a well-structured kitchen team, you will maintain high standards of food preparation, hygiene, and safety while adapting to sea or base constraints.
* You will plan menus for variety and balance.
* Chefs assist in training, supervising, and mentoring less experienced chefs and trainee chefs.
* In emergency situations and exercises, including fire-fighting and damage control duties, you will assist.

Be a citizen of the Irish State OR have a legal entitlement to reside and work in the State for the period of any such appointment AND be of good character, satisfying any security clearance required during recruitment AND meet minimum medical and physical fitness standards assessed during recruitment.
