As part of this development, they are seeking a Buyer to join their procurement team on a full‑time, permanent basis at their Belfast headquarters.Your new roleIn this role, you will support a range of bespoke, design‑led construction projects by managing procurement activity from sourcing through to delivery. Your key responsibilities will include:Working closely with project, design and operations teams to plan procurement activity aligned to project specifications.Ensuring materials and services are delivered on time, within agreed cost parameters, and in line with quality standards.Maintaining and updating approved supplier records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant.Raising purchase orders, monitoring order progress and proactively flagging risks or delays.Identifying cost‑saving opportunities through analysis, benchmarking, and supplier review.Overseeing supplier performance and maintaining strong, effective supplier relationships.Resolving any pricing, delivery, quality, or invoicing discrepancies, including escalating non‑conformances where required.Tracking order values, capturing variations and communicating changes to the wider project team.Providing support to estimating and commercial colleagues on pricing queries and tender submissions.What you'll need to succeed At least 4 years' experience in a procurement or buying position, ideally within construction, engineering or manufacturing.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.Previous experience using an ERP system.Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.A proactive approach with confidence to contribute ideas for process improvement.Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain productive supplier relationships.What you'll get in return Company pension schemeFree on‑site parkingOpportunity to join a growing business with long‑term career development potentialWhat you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion on your career.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
