Key Responsibilities:
Serves as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice on customs compliance, classification, valuation, and documentation requirements.
* Ensures compliance with all relevant customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
* Develops and implements efficient processes to ensure shipments are managed against appropriate timelines and expectations.
* Maintains awareness of changes in customs regulations and industry trends, supporting updates to internal policies and procedures.
* Conducts regular audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensures adherence to compliance standards.
* Collaborates with internal departments (e.g., logistics, finance, legal) to streamline processes and resolve issues effectively.
* BUILDS AND MAINTAINS STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL PARTNERS AND OTHER RELEVANT STAKEHOLDERS.
* Provides training and guidance to team members to enhance their knowledge and skills in customs brokerage operations.
* Monitors team workload and identifies opportunities for automation and productivity improvements.
* Works closely with cross-functional team members to identify knowledge, reporting, or process gaps and creates and drives improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
A university degree in a business-related discipline is preferred. Experience across global geographies is also required.
* In-depth knowledge of export/import laws and regulations.
* 5+ years of experience in customs/global trade (export, customs, and/or trade compliance).
* Operational experience in export/import operations and risk management.
* People management experience across different geographies.
* Strong project management skills and technological savviness.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to operate and communicate effectively at all business levels.
