Location: Irish Times Print Facility, Citywest, Dublin

About Us:
We are a leading newspaper production facility committed to delivering high-quality services and products. Our team is seeking a motivated and hardworking individual who wishes to serve a full four-year Solas Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting Apprenticeship. This is an excellent opportunity to start a rewarding career in mechanical engineering maintenance, gaining hands-on experience while working in a modern, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment within the newspaper production facility.
* Work closely with experienced technicians to perform routine checks and troubleshoot machinery issues.
* Fabrication and repair of components using a wide range of workshop equipment i.e. Lathe, Milling m/c, welding and drilling.
* Support in the installation, testing, and repair of mechanical components.
* Follow safety protocols and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
* Participate in training sessions and on-the-job learning to develop skills and knowledge in mechanical engineering maintenance.
Qualifications:
* Preferably educated to Leaving Certificate standard. Those sitting the 2025 Leaving Certificate are eligible to apply
* A strong interest in mechanical systems and engineering.
* A willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
* Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Ability to work well in a team and independently.
* Previous experience related to mechanical maintenance or engineering is an advantage but not required.
