Join SYSTRA as a Senior Engineer in Rail & Highways Civil Engineering Design!
The Senior Engineer will be a technical lead on key transport infrastructure engineering design projects at this exciting time of investment and growth in Ireland. Based in our Dublin office, you will inspire & expand the skill set of the team, safeguard delivery through engagement with Project Managers and promote innovative and sustainable engineering delivery based on a right first-time principle.
The Senior Engineer will support the leadership and management of Engineers, Graduates and Technicians in the efficient and effective delivery of projects ensuring the needs of the Client and the business are met, applying company procedures and systems to promote high levels of health, safety and wellbeing of staff and other stakeholders.
Support both the Ireland Engineering Lead and Head of Civil Engineering in delivering excellence and upholding the effective and consistent implementation of SYSTRA Company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead design projects and associated team members as directed, ensuring Client commitments are met.
* Undertake the duties of designer as highlighted in the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
* Act as designer, checker and approver on projects as directed.
* Carry out the role of delivery lead on civils engineering schemes in the transport sector
* Deliver a portfolio of projects to the required quality, time and budget.
* Monitor project and team performance against contracts and project quality plans taking necessary corrective action.
* Manage the checking and approval process to ensure compliance with both client and business requirements.
* Have knowledge of drainage designs within linear infrastructure.
* Support the sales team to maximise both company and team opportunities with Clients.
* Input into bids through pricing, resourcing and responding tender questions.
* Act as Civils Lead Engineer on projects, reporting financial progress and taking necessary corrective action.
* Develop staff to ensure the skills are available within the team to meet business objectives.
* Manage relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
* Apply procedures and systems to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your team and other stakeholders.
Experience Required:
* Membership of a relevant professional institution.
* Professionally qualified/Chartered Engineer status.
* Significant experience in infrastructure civil engineering design in the transportation sector, ideally rail industry focussed.
* Experience in the application civil engineering design principles and standards.
* Ability in the application and teaching of construction principles and standards including experience of project delivery in construction related markets.
* Experienced at working with contractors in a design and build environment.
* Ideally experienced within the Irish rail sector and ability in the use of NTA, TII, TFI and IÉ procedures and standards.
* Experience of contract conditions, processes and procedures.
* Ability in the application of safety, health and welfare regulations.
* Ability in programming, delivery, budgets and timescales.
* Experience of line management desirable.
* Ability in the use of Eurocodes.
* Experience in the use of computer analysis programs.
* Good command of written and spoken English.
* Strong communicator with excellent team ethic
